1. Cross Cannizaro reaction:-
Ph-COOH + HCHO ==NaOH (conc.)==> Ph-CH2OH + HCOONa
2. Acid anhydride of HNO3 is N2O5 and the breaking of N2O5 is like this : - (NO2+)+(NO3-).
3. (a) Na2O + H2O ==> NaOH
(b) Na2O2 + H2O ==> NaOH + H2O2
(c) KO2 + H2O ==> KOH + H2O2 + O2
4. (a) NH4NO3 ==HEAT==> N2O + H2O
(b) NH4NO2 ==HEAT==> N2 + H2O
(c) NaNO3 ==HEAT==> NaNO2 + O2
5. CHCl3 + O2 ==light(hv)==> COCl2 + HCl
6. HCHO + NH3 ==> (CH2)6N4 [UROTROPINE]
7. CH3CONH2 + P4O10 ==> CH3CN + H2O
8. CH3CONH2 + KOBr ==> CH3NH2 + Other By- Products [Hoffmann Degradation]
9. (CH3)3C -O - CH3 + HI ==> (CH3)3C-I + CH3OH
10. (NH4)2Cr2O7 ==HEAT==> N2 + H2O + Cr2O3
11. H3BO3 + NaOH ==3C2H5OH==> (C2H5O)3B + 3H2O
(C2H5O)3B + NaOH ==> Na3BO3 [burns with green edge flame]
12. H3BO3 can be also written like this:- B(OH)3 but it is a monobasic lewis acid with n-factor = 1. It is a OH- receiver.
13. Inorganic Benzene (B3N3H6) is more reactive than Organic Benzene (C6H6).
14. FeSO4 ==HEAT==> Fe2O3 + SO2 + SO3 [This is a only exception as heating of sulphates gives respective oxides + SO2 + O2]
15. K2Cr2O7 + H2O2 + H2SO4 ==> CrO5 (butterfly like structure in which Cr is in + 6 state) + Other By- Products .
16. Ethyne + Hg+2/H2SO4 , H2O2 ==> Acetone + H2O [simply attack of H2O]
